I do not have words to express my apologies.its really been quite a long time since i last posted.i had exams coming up and there's no way i could have posted.So here's my post on myy mom's delicacy.its sweet yet spicy taste with succulent prawns is sure to be a family favourite and big hit..:)
SOUTH INDIAN PRAWN CURRY
THINGS U NEED
PRAWNS-250GM
ONION-2 LARGE FINELY CHOPPED
GARLIC-2 TSP FINELY CHOPPED
URID DHAL(SPLIT)-1 TSP
TURMERIC POWDER-1/4 TSP
CHILLI POWDER-2 TSP
CORIANDER POWDER-2 TSP
SALT-AS NEEDED
CURRY LEAVES-FEW
METHOD

METHOD
- Wash and de-vein the prawns thoroughly and keep aside.
- Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan.
- Add urid dhal and fry till it turns golden brown.
- Add garlic and fry till golden brown and nice aroma comes.
- Next add onion and fry till translucent in medium flame.
- Reduce the heat to low and now add 100 ml water,chilli powder,coriander powder,turmeric powder and salt.
- Cover and let it cook for 10 mins on a low flame till oit seperates.
- Now finally add prawns.Mix well and let it cook on a low flame covered for 15-20 mins.sprinkle some water if required.
- Before switching off the flame add curry leaves.serve hot with white rice.
NOTES
- Use small sized prawns as they absorb more flavour.
- Use red onions because they add a sweet taste.
- Never compromise on the amount of onion and garlic because these 2 ingredients give the curry a rich flavour.
