NAN KHATAI

Its been my dream to make this biscuit. Whenever i eat this biscuit i used to think to make this myself sometime. While randomly browsing recipes i got this recipe from www.jeyashri'skitchen.com..It came out really well.I must thank her for that. It became an instant hit in my family.And within the last 1 week I ve made more than 5 batches..Happy baking..:)


THINGS YOU NEED

FLOUR-200 GM
SUGAR-POWDERED-100GM
BAKING SODA-1/4TSP
CARDOMOM-4 PODS (ONLY THE SEEDS POWDERED)
VANASPATI+GHEE-100GM

METHOD

  • IN A CLEAN AND DRY BOWL ADD FLOUR,BAKING SODA AND CARDOMOM POWDER AND MIX WELL.
  • IN ANOTHER BOWL BLEND TOGETHER GHEE+VANASPATI AND SUGAR UNTIL CREAMY.
  • NOW ADD THIS TO THE FLOUR AND MAKE A SOFT DOUGH(SHOULD NOT BREAK)
  • LET THIS DOUGH REST FOR HALF AN HOUR.
  • NOW MAKE SMALL BALLS AND FLATTEN IT.
  • PREHEAT THE OVEN TO 140 DEGREE AND BAKE THIS FOR 18 MINS.
  • IT WILL BE LIGHTLY SOFT.BUT WHEN IT COOLS DOWN IT WILL TURN FIRM.
NOTE: U CAN GARNISH USING POWDERED NUTS BEFORE BAKING.I USED CUCUMBER SEEDS IN THIS.ALSO TRY ALMONDS.
