CRISPY BABYCORN

Yesterday after a month of intense heat in  chennai,there was an unexpected shower of heavy rain in chennai and it was a blessing.The rainy season comes and along with it comes hot tasty treats and finger foods are common among all.This recipe is an adaptation from Rak's kitchen.I had baby corn n hand and after seeing her recipe i could'nt give a second thought......


INGREDIENTS


  • GRAM FLOUR(BESAN)-ONE-FOURTH CUP
  • RICE FLOUR-ONE-FOURTH CUP
  • ASAFOETIDA-3 PINCHES
  • RED CHILLI POWDER-HALF TSP
  • SALT-TO TASTE
  • COOKING SODA-1 GENEROUS PINCH
  • OIL-TO DEEP GRY
  • BABYCORN-200GM
METHOD



  • Cut the baby corn lengthwise and cut it into 2 inch pieces.
  • Mix the rest of the ingredients with water to make a thick batter.
  • Dip the babycorn pieces in the batter and deep fry on a medium flame.
  • Serve with tomato ketchup.
HANDY TIPS


  • The batter should be quite thick with less amount of water.
  • You can also use potato,raw banana or cauliflower and do the recipe.
